H.E. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Al Saidi, Minister of Health presided today (Sunday) a meeting to discuss the epidemiological situation updates and the surge of COVID-19 cases as well cases of hospital admissions particularly in the Intensive Care Units.

The meeting joined H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al Hosni, MOH’s Undersecretary for Health Affairs and health care directors’ generals.

The meeting reviewed challenges and solutions to encounter this phases of pandemic that require pooling of health sector resources to take care of the increasing numbers of patients.   

 Provision of health services has been decided to be reduced to cover only basic services at primary health care and specialized care, in addition to returning to the plan that was adopted during the peak of epidemic in previous waves.

The ministry calls on everyone to understand the measures taken, cooperate with the health sector and strictly adhere to preventive measures such as the wearing masks, physical distancing and maintaining hands hygiene.
